The Last Lecture

So what does a person do when you find out you have pancreatic cancer and only have a few months to live? Do you sit and mope about it or do you live life like you always wanted to and had one last lecture. After reading Randy Pausch's book titled, The Last Lecture, I've realized how inspiring he is. Randy found out that he had pancreatic cancer and about 10, or more, tumors. Knowing that he was going to die, that he was going to leave his wife and kids, as much as he wanted to sit there and cry, Paush realized that crying got you no where.
Goals. The most imporant thing in the book, simply goals. Being in zero gravity, Playing in the NFL, authoring an article in the world Book encyclopedia, Being captain Kirk, winning stuffed animals or even being a Disney Imagineer. Everything Randy wanted he got, not by sitting there but getting up and doing it.
As cliche as it sounds you learn a great appreciation for life. Complaining, crying, whining, won't do anything. Brick walls in your life are there for a reason, let them happen because behind that brick wall are your goals. A few qoutes, more coming, are from Randy Pausch, which I suggest you read...it's a best seller!

"Here was a woman, having a child by accident that she surely would come to love. As for me, through the accident of cancer I'd be leaving three children to grow upo without my love." -Randy Pausch

"We can't change it. We have to decide how we'll respond. We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." -Randy Paush

"Brick walls are there for a reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something."-Randy Pausch

Heres also a video of Pausch on Opra which, not surprisingly, made me cry :( to people that tear up easy, bring out the tissues.
